Dog owners tired of tangled leashes and tripping over their furry friends now have a high-tech alternative.

Heel’s Roam 350, a virtual dog leash, lets pets explore while staying within a safe boundary.

The device, touted as the first of its kind, operates using Heel's proprietary wireless technology called "Autoprox," which tracks your dog’s movements via a collar and a remote control.

With this setup, owners can set the leash length anywhere from 10 to 750 feet, providing flexibility for a range of outdoor activities.

If the dog exceeds the preset distance, the collar will deliver a warning.

Owners can choose between a vibration or a mild static correction to keep their pet close, catering to different training styles and behaviors.

For those who want to manage multiple pets, the remote can pair with up to three collars, eliminating the need for additional devices.

It also provides haptic feedback to notify the owner of any warnings or corrections issued.

Unlike some geofencing systems that rely on GPS or cellular networks, the Roam 350 functions independently, making it suitable for use in remote areas like hiking trails or campsites.

The virtual leash runs on battery power, providing approximately four days of use on automatic mode, assuming four hours of daily operation, and up to eight days on manual mode.

The system is designed for dogs as small as six-month-old Rat Terriers, weighing between 8 to 12 pounds, though it may not be suitable for breeds that are smaller.

Users can select various leash distances—10, 25, 75, 150, or 750 feet—to suit their environment and activity level.

Heel's product also serves as a standard training collar with a maximum range of 1,000 feet, offering versatility for owners.

Without any GPS requirements, subscription fees, or cellular needs, the Roam 350 is marketed as a convenient, cost-effective solution for dog owners seeking a modern approach to pet control.

Heel emphasizes responsible pet ownership, reminding users that the device is not foolproof and encouraging adherence to local laws and regulations.

With the Roam 350, Heel hopes to make outdoor adventures safer and more enjoyable for both dogs and their owners, combining freedom with peace of mind.
