Pet owners in Lucknow will soon benefit from a new online system for obtaining pet licences, eliminating the need for visits to the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) office.
The digital platform, set to launch by the end of August, will enable around 8,000 pet owners to apply for and receive their licences from the comfort of their homes.
The LMC has partnered with HDFC Bank to develop this online process.
Under the new system, the application fee remains at Rs 200 for Indian breed dogs and Rs 1,000 for foreign breeds. To apply, pet owners will need to register on the LMC website and upload their pet's vaccination records and a photograph of the pet, along with their address and contact information.
A zonal team will perform a physical verification of the pet and provide a report on the same day. The approval process will be completed within three days, after which the licence can be downloaded upon payment of the fee.
