In a heartwarming rescue, Drifter, a three-year-old tabby, was found safe after being trapped in a Minnesota sewer for nearly two months.
The tabby cat, adopted by Clifton Nesseth, Ashley Comstock, and their 12-year-old daughter, April Dressel, had gone missing on July 18th while exploring a construction site in their neighborhood. Despite extensive searches and countless posters, the family had lost hope of ever seeing Drifter again.
Just when they were preparing for a memorial service, a glimmer of hope emerged. Neighboring kids reported hearing a cat's meows coming from a storm drain at the construction site. The family rushed to the scene and, after a delicate digging operation, discovered Drifter trapped in the sewer.
Miraculously, Drifter had survived the ordeal, subsisting on whatever he could find underground. Though he had lost significant weight during the ordeal, Drifter is now recovering well, regaining his strength after a night of cuddling with April. The family is overjoyed to have him back.
