On the 15th of September, Heads Up for Tails (HUFT) brought the much-anticipated 3rd edition of India’s biggest Dogathon to cities across the country, and it did not disappoint! With more cities added to the event this year, dog lovers from all over India had the opportunity to gather with their furry companions for a fun-filled day, all for a great cause—the welfare of community animals.

A Tail-Wagging Time in Bangalore

One of the cities that saw the best turnout was Bangalore. The event kicked off with dog registration at HUFT’s Vittal Mallya Road store. Here, each registered dog was welcomed with a bag full of goodies and accessories, setting a cheerful tone for the day. The walk itself was an exciting experience for pet parents and their dogs, as they made their way around the city in batches, following a scenic route passing by UB City and Anil Kumble Circle. Volunteers were stationed throughout the trail to assist with road crossings and directions, ensuring everyone’s safety.

The walk ended back at the starting point, but the excitement was far from over. The atmosphere was alive with pet-centric activities and plenty of opportunities for dogs and their humans to bond.

Fun Activities and Treats Galore!

HUFT left no stone unturned in making sure the pets and their parents had an unforgettable time. There were refreshments for the pet parents and delicious treats for the pups. With breeds ranging from Labradors to Golden Retrievers, Huskies, German Shepherds, and even many Indies, the diversity of dogs added to the vibrancy of the event.

To capture the memories, painting artists created adorable sketches of dogs and their owners. There were paw-printing activities, and cute picture frames were available for people to snap photos with their fur babies. The highlight of the day was the presence of HUFT co-founder Ms. Ridhima Coelho, who personally awarded each dog a golden medal and certificate.

A Huge Success for a Great Cause

The Dogathon wasn’t just about fun—it had a purpose. With every ticket purchased, participants contributed to HUFT Foundation's animal welfare initiatives. The success of the event in Bangalore, along with other cities, is a testament to the growing support for community animals. Walking together for such a noble cause brought people and pets closer, and with the overwhelming response, we look forward to an even bigger Dogathon next year!
