Hubli Kennel Association Hosts 1st All Breed Open Dog Show

The Hubli Kennel Association proudly hosted the 1st All Breed Open Dog Show, a day that brought together an array of passionate dog breeders, talented handlers, and pet parents. The show took place on 27th October 2024, at Cotton County Club, Hubli. The venue was chosen to provide ample space and a pet-friendly environment, ensuring a memorable experience for both participants and spectators. Happy Pet was the official promotions partner for the event.

Each dog breed should be celebrated: HKA Secretary Banu

Banuchandra Hosmani, the Secretary of the Hubli Kennel Association, shared his inspiration behind organizing the event in an exclusive interview with Happy Pet. “We wanted to create a space where each dog breed could be celebrated and appreciated,” he explained. His vision of uniting the community through a shared love for dogs was evident in the meticulous planning and the enthusiasm seen on the day.


“It has been a very exciting day for everyone. It started quite early in the morning. People were at the venue around 6:30 AM with their dogs, many coming from Kolhapur, Bangalore and Maharashtra. The response has been great,” he enthused.

Thanking all participants, visitors and exhibitors, he also lauded the entire team for working day in and day out for over a week. “For the efforts we put in, we have gotten a great response. Looking forward to the same response in the coming shows. Looking forward to more exhibitors participating in the coming shows,” he said.

Hubli-Dharwad Central MLA and the chief guest for the event Mr. Mahesh Tenginkai voiced his encouragement and support for the show. "Hubli Kennel Association is organising a special KCI Dog Show for the very first time.


The people of Hubli must utilize this opportunity to understand which breed of dogs will be suitable for their homes.


For all the dog lovers in Hubli, this event is sending out a great message. Many special and rare breeds of dogs have participated at this event. Mr. T. Preetham, KCI and International All Breed Judge, was entrusted with the significant role of evaluating the dogs. Explaining the nuances of the process, he said, “While physical attributes are important, temperament and handler-dog rapport are equally vital.


A true winner has that extra spark, the unique qualities that show not only beauty but also a remarkable connection with their handler.


An Impressive Footfall: Celebrating Together

The event drew a lively crowd of hundreds–from experienced breeders and handlers, to families eager to explore different dog breeds. It was a prime example of a community of dog lovers uniting in celebration. 

The success of the day was evident in the diverse footfall, despite it being the first time a KCI dog show was organized in Hubli. 


The Winners of Best in Show (BIS) took it all

The excitement peaked with the Best in Show (BIS) award announcements. Exemplifying the finest traits of their respective breeds, the dogs captivated the audience and earned the admiration of the judges. Best In Show at the Hubli Kennel Association's 1st All Breed Open Dog Show under Mr. T Preetham was a Larador Retriever, Bucks Fizz Blue, owned By Mr. Vikram Raja.

Junior Handlers - The rising stars of the show

The Junior Handlers category showcased the skills of young participants who exhibited a deep understanding of their dogs. Their dedication and poise were a highlight, inspiring many onlookers and adding a special touch to the event.

Happy Pet Partners with Hubli Kennel Association

For the first time, Happy Pet collaborated with the Hubli Kennel Association as the official promotions partner for the event. The firm handled ticket booking and managed media promotions, thereby expanding the show’s reach. This collaboration made sure it was easy for attendees to secure tickets and stay updated.
